The present model Chrysler 300 first debuted in 2004 after it had shut down four decades ago. The 2004 model came with a host of V6 and V8 engine trims. In 2011, the sedan was again designed with upgraded drivetrain and technology. Latest facelift came out in 2015 and was rolled out as a second generation car.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is now on the move to come up with its third generation model as 2018 Chrysler 300. It is unlikely that the automaker will launch its next generation car at the end of 2017. The sedan may make a public appearance in mid-2018 while sales may start even later.

2018 Chrysler 300 – Price
This sedan will come out as a third generation car of Fiat Chrysler. 2018 Chrysler 300 may hit the market with a price tag of around $33,000.
The 2018 sedan will be built on Fiat’s rear-all wheel drive LX platform with components borrowed from W211-generation of Mercedes-Benz E-class. It is rumored that Chrysler may shift to front-wheel drive platform.
The car may arrive in three versions – a standard Chrysler 300, and two more luxurious versions as 300C and 300S. Higher models may show some exterior detailing and get increased interior comfort for all its occupants.
2018 Chrysler 300 – Engine
2018 Chrysler 300 may come with two variants in this section. The base model may receive a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 292 hp of output power and 264 lb-ft of torque. The higher version will be equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 petrol engine with 363 hp of power and 394 lb-ft of torque capacity.
As of now, both engines will be expected to mate with an 8-speed automatic transmission system along with a rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive feature will be optional in the V6 version. European markets may get a diesel unit.
Speed and acceleration
The combined powertrain will rev up the car up to maximum speed of 131 mph. Chrysler 300 will achieve an acceleration of 0 – 60 mph in a span of 6.5 seconds.
EPA rating will receive improvements when compared to previous versions. The rating will likely be 16 mpg in city premises and 25 mpg on the highway.
The 2018 Chrysler 300 is expected to lock horns with Chevrolet Impala which promises I4 engine with a maximum power capacity of 305 hp and set at a price of $36,000 approximately. The car will also go up against Ford Taurus set around $40,000 max and 365 hp of power capacity.
2018 Chrysler 300 – Exterior Look
Chrysler design head Ralph Gilles mentioned that the new vehicle might lose the iconic look and undergo a makeover. The design will be bulkier with larger front grilles and bigger headlights. It will, however, retain the elegant Chrysler’s signature look.
Wheelbase should be maintained at 120 inches while headroom can be enhanced over 38.6 inches and legroom over 41.8 inches. The optional premium leather package will also be incorporated.
The 2018 Chrysler 300 will be installed with Chrysler’s SafetyTec Plus Group package with Uconnect interface. With this, the car is set to receive adaptive cruise control for enhancing stability, rear view cameras with park assist, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring and tire pressure monitoring systems.
