Ford has decided to give its Mustang class of cars a makeover and is set to bring out a new 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. To compete with ZL1 and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Ford claims that 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will capable of delivering a minimum of 700 hp of power, and the number may well shoot up to 800 hp.
With the car already seen testing on race tracks to check its maximum potential, a few specifications could be figured out.
The most expensive Mustang till date
The sixth-generation Mustang could be the most expensive version in this series and will likely to come with a price tag $65,000. Rumors have it Ford may decide to build the 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in limited numbers.

Ford will scrap away the supercharging technology and will put a twin-turbo V8 engine following its EcoBoost forced-induction strategy. The car will also have 6-speed automatic transmission system.
Previous Mustang Shelby had an EPA rated at 14 mpg in city, 21 mpg on highway and 16 mpg combined. With the twin-turbocharged technology, 2018 GT500 will see an improvement in fuel consumption and EPA rating.
Mustang will take on Dodge and Chevy
Dodge Challenger SRT will come with its famous Hellcat engine with a massive 707 hp of power capacity and 199 mph top speed. Along with this, SRT will come with a price tag of $60,000. GT500 Mustang can expect stiff competition from this model.
Another vehicle in line could be Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. It is set at $62,000 and promises to provide a maximum power of 650 hp. Although Mustang is more powerful, Camaro can take the lead when it comes to its price.
Mustang has received a slight makeover
The 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will come with 18-inch to 19-inch rims and will sport an entirely new design. The car will inherit most of its looks from the earlier version. The front fascia will have a large splitter housing enhanced grille for more air intake. Its body is slightly widened with a fixed wing above the trunk lid.
New 2018 Mustang will have LED tri-bar taillights and Ford’s signature HID (High-Intensity Discharge) headlights with LED fittings. An immense power output of 800 hp will see Mustang come with Brembo braking system and race-class suspension systems.

Interiors will also show similarities to its previous model. 2018 Mustang will feature similar dashboard, center console, and door panels. Seats will be 6-way power adjustable and available in leather trims. The driver will get heated seats for better driving experience. A dead pedal (left side) will also be placed at a distance from the accelerator pedal.
Infotainment system will have 12 speakers with an 8-inch subwoofer, 390-watt audio system.
