Toyota first showcased the new 2018 Lexus LS at the Tokyo Motor Show and it has been dubbed as a sedan with Japanese reliability and European luxury. 2018 Lexus LS – Redesign Exterior and Interior
The exterior of the 4 door 2018 Lexus LS is unique with a three dimension hour glass shaped front grille that extends to the bottom. Large air vents and trapezoid-shaped precise LED headlights with round fog lights flank the bottom and top part of the fascia. This sedan is slightly long measuring 200 inches in length, 73.8 and 57. 3 in width and height respectively; total weight is 4835 pounds. There is a set of anti-roll bars and air springs. That includes a high-quality audio output, smartphone connectivity, and Bluetooth for hands-free calls. Safety features have also been installed including a lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring, traction control and stability control.
2018 Lexus LS – Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Lexus LS 2018 is equipped with a new and powerful 4.6-liter V8 engine RWD that outputs 386 hp and 367-pound foot of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. For the first time; this sedan will be offered as an all-wheel drive will have 360 hp. The fuel efficiency of this unit is an average 17 miles per gallon for both city and highway. A hybrid engine will also be available, the electric motors and a 5.0-liter V8 engine will offer more boost and total power output of 438 hp for this hybrid engine and fuel efficiency will be higher.
2018 Lexus LS – Price and Release Date
The 2018 Lexus LS will be in the market in the second half of 2017. And there is a rumor that Toyota will release a variant that runs on hydrogen. Prices begin at $73,000 for the base trim rising up to $121,000 for the hybrid trim. The competition will come from Jaguar models that also have V8 engines, although they are slightly more expensive.
