2018 Porsche Macan – Facelift Looks and Shape
The 2018 Porsche Macan has received a number of upgrades on its exterior profile. At the front, the model’s grille has been slightly upgraded while its air vents on either side of the grille have been enlarged to provide more cooling air to the engine. Headlights that flank the grille will feature next-gen LED lighting technology. The bumper has also been revised and it is integrated with new fog lights. The side profile remains largely unchanged compared to the outgoing model except for the new 19-inch aluminum wheels. The rear fascia remains unchanged compared to the current model.
The interior of the Macan will retain the familiar Porsche design. The cabin will be upholstered in Alcantara and leather. Surfaces not wrapped in Alcantara or leather will feature either aluminum or wood trims. Its seats will be well contoured and supportive of providing comfort even during long rides. The cabin will also feature the most up-to-date PCM infotainment system. This system offers modern entertainment as well as connectivity features. Standard features even on the base model will include leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats. Heated seats with ventilated front seats, a tri-zone climate control system, a 4.8-inch touchscreen and Porsche Communication manager that feature Apple CarPlay, HD radio, Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation system and traffic alerts.
In terms of safety, the Porsche Macan will feature traction control, ABS, electronic stability control and a full package of airbags. In addition, the model will feature a number of driving aids such as lane keep assist, blind-spot warning, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and parking sensors among others.
2018 Porsche Macan – Interesting Engine Mix
The 2018 Porsche Macan will feature an array of engines. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit which produces 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 360 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. This engine will power the Macan GTS. It will be paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The engine powers the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds. The second engine which will power the Macan S is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6. This engine produces 340 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. This engine fuel economy is EPA rated at 19 mpg on combined drives. With this engine, the Macan takes 5.6 seconds to accelerate from 0-60mph.
The Macan Turbo will on the other hand feature a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V-6 engine which is capable of generating 400 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. All engines will be paired to the automatic 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox that channels power to all wheels. All models will have an option for the Chrono Package. Models with this system achieve a top speed of 142 mph.
2018 Porsche Macan – Price and Expected Release Date
Porsche is yet to release information about the Macan’s price or official release date. According to credible reports, the 2018 Porsche Macan will have a starting price of $50,000 while the top trim, the Macan Turbo will attract as much as $77,000.
